Custom order set batik messenger bag and netbook case

This customer liked my batiks, especially the purple prints. She had a netbook and wanted a padded case, with a place to store cords, mouse etc, and a carry handle. She then decided she wanted a messenger bag to go with it, large enough so the case could be carried inside.
She went with a Lynx, but didn't want it to be too deep, so I took an 1" off the depth, and we used a different batik for the flap.
Turned out to be a really nice, low key set.
She offered her thoughts on her blog, seen here

Stacy and her Tallullah with a famous icon!

Long time fans of my bags will know that Stacy has many of products, mostly custom made, with fabric she found. She has her own photo gallery as well.
I thought this photograph would make the perfect cover for that album. How cute is this??

Happy New Year!

I am back to work today, rested and ready to jump back in! I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family and friends.

My plan, for this year, is to work on offering a larger inventory of ready made products.  I am going to begin by working on Kipster Knitting Bags, Wallets on Strings and the padded cases for iPads and netbooks. All very popular products.

As a one person business it is a challenge to keep a full inventory while also working on custom orders, shipping, taking photographs, adding items to my shops, answering inquiries and also working to promote my products, via newsletters, Facebook and this blog. Not to mention looking for new fabrics, doing all the bookkeeping and ordering all the other supplies I use!

This year I am hoping that all my promotion has paid off and I can back off a little in that area and concentrate on the actual sewing of products. This means you might see fewer blog posts, but if you stop by the shop you will find more in stock items ready to buy. This has been my intention all along, but a shop full of products and no customers isn't very useful LOL!

I thank you for all your support and hope you will find browsing the shops even more fun that before

Over and out till next year!

I am working hard to finish all your custom orders this week. I am hopeful that I will be able to stop work on Thursday, and not return until Jan 3rd.
This has been an incredible year for me and I have all my wonderful customers to thank for that. So many of you come back time and time again, and I am so grateful.
You are so kind and complementary, and it is a pleasure to work with you on your dream bags, or perfect gifts for your family and friends.
On Christmas Day, I think of how many people are opening up presents that were custom made for them, by me. It's a great feeling!
Thanks to everyone and have a wonderful holiday.
See you in 2011!

Custom Santa Claus Honeysuckle Tote for Mrs. Santa, really

I was asked to take this panel of Santa and create a tote for a customer, who told me she was Mrs. Santa.

She wanted a zippered pocket on the back, but otherwise told me to make it my way! This is what I did
