New Fabrics: More Peace Signs for Messenger Bags and Laptop Cases

One of my regular customers stopped by to pick up a couple of bags, one for her daughter, and one for herself, a week or two ago . She sent some kind words after receiving them, and I am pleased she has given permission for me to to share them here.

New Size Messenger Bag The Lynx Deluxe: Green Batik Peace Sign





Here's the deluxe model of The Lynx.
This batik peace sign print is beautiful. You can find this bag in my shop. I also have this print in purple and multi colored as well. Plus I have a smaller version of the multi color. I am expecting a shipment of two more peace sign prints to arrive this week. Pink and blue versions of a print with a decidedly 60's mod look. I'll post them as soon as they arrive. To those of you who are looking for peace sign messenger bags, you can put peace sign in the search box in my shop to find in stock bags. However I would encourage you to ask for a custom order to get the right size, in the print you love the most!

Kona Bay Asian Koi Pond Panther Deluxe Messenger Bag




I wanted to have the fish on the side pocket swimming "in to " the bag, as well as across the flap!





I have made a few bags with the purple version of this print, as well as the black. But recently I found this teal version. Wow! This is the first time I have made a Panther Deluxe, with this print, for inventory rather than a custom order.

"Dear Karen,
the box came in today and I don't know what to say... All the purses are so beautiful!! My son Ryo and I have spent the last 40 minutes on the floor surrounded by them, deciding who gets which one (the dog one is his!!). I love the one for me (the black zen tattoo).
You are a great artist. I really hope your store is doing well because you deserve it. Your bags are so much better than anything in stores both on line and not!
I think though that when you packed the purses you put in also a wallet on a string that I do not remember ordering. I hope your customer who did order it is not waiting for it! I'll send it back to you when I send you the fabric from my friend which I'll get tomorrow. When you get it, then we can figure out what to do with it. I think there should be enough for a couple of bags.

The wallet she referenced really was part of her order, as she soon discovered! The fabric? You can see it in the pics above, the Darumas. The grey/white print. We did a Britta Tote and a Tootsie .
What is a Daruma you ask?

From Wikipedia:

Daruma dolls (達磨 daruma), also known as dharma dolls, are hollow and round JapaneseBodhidharma, the founder and first patriarch of Zen.[1] Typical colors are red (most common), yellow, green, and white. The doll has a face with a mustache and beard, but its eyes only contain the color white. Using black ink, one fills in a single circular eye while thinking of a wish. Many of the Daruma dolls are male. There is, however, a female Daruma called hime daruma or "princess daruma."

Another one of my long time customers placed an order early in the year. She buys many of my bags as gifts, and we have worked together numerous times to pick out the bags and styles she wants.
She orders well in advance of when she needs the bags, and tells me to make them as I can. Perfect!

The last order was mostly Honeysuckle Totes. She also bought some stock bags, so you may well have seen those. These, however will be new to your eyes!
I love sharing what I do as custom orders because it shows you what other people select, rather than me!

She picked different sizes of Honeysuckles , and also, had me make some tall, and some wide, to provide a real variety.

Custom Order Zeldina Mini Messenger Bag Peace Sign Batik removable flap



Yesterday I blogged about the new peace sign fabrics. One of my regular customers, owner of a Morphin Zeldina Mini Messenger Bag, the bag with removable flaps, took one look and placed an order. It's ready to ship today , and wow, look how it turned out!

Stunning Matched Set, Echino fabrics again!






As promised yesterday, here is the custom order.
This customer sent me the Echino Tiger on Flower print in a natural colorway that is incredible!

We did a special sized Tallullah, making it deeper, but shorter. The Otter Hipster, mentioned yesterday, but without the outer zip pocket and the multiple inner pockets. The waist belt, with the adjustable aspect proved to have two uses, you can actually put it over your shoulder as well. All you have to do is lengthen, or shorten, the strap and it can be worn either way.
Finally we did a checkbook cover to finish out the set.
